Jet Transporting Pete Hegseth Required to Land in UK Because of Crack in Cockpit Window
An aircraft carrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was identified in the jet's front window, per an announcement which stated that the secretary was unharmed.
"The aircraft touched down based on standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, among them Pete Hegseth, is unharmed," a spokesperson said in a online announcement.
Hegseth was returning from a short visit to the city of Brussels at the time.
This incident does not mark the first time that a American defense plane ferrying a top government figure has suffered technical problems.
Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane transporting the US Secretary of State to the German city of Munich was required to return to the US capital after experiencing a mechanical problem.
