Chiefs Acknowledge Alleged Abuse Allegations Connected to Player Rashee Rice

The NFL franchise released a comment Wednesday night confirming they are aware of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a former girlfriend of player Rashee Rice and had been in communication with the league office.

The organization did not mention Rice by name in their announcement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention the athlete by name, posted a series of photos on social media that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. She did say the person involved was the parent of her kids, and it is known she has two children with Rice, whom the team drafted in the 2023 draft.

Police Reports Reportedly Unavailable

No police reports were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have occurred.

Rice's Recent Off-Field Troubles

The receiver missed the first six games of this season following an NFL suspension for his role in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that left multiple people injured. He was sentenced a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to serious offenses.

Statistically, he finished the year with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs went 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
